Murcia


The city Murcia is the pearl of the south east of Spain. Het is de capital of the region Murcia en is located in the valley of the Segura river, sheltered by the hills. It’s a city with many contrasts : you will find fertile fields next to nearly desertlike areas, and beautiful old buildings near ultra modern ones.

The center of this modern town is the 18th century square La Glorieta. The mainstreet is the car-free Calle de la Traperia, with connects the cathedral with the Plaza Santo Domingo. The Manrique bridge over de Segura river, in the middle of the town, is from de famous architect Santiago Calatrava.

The historical center has a lot to offer. From super modern,international tradeshops to the typical Spanish shops. A big part of Murcia has been made car-free areas. This way you can walk peacefully through the city.  The people of Murcia are known to be very friendly en de food is definately worth trying out.
